Our servers are with OVHcloud, in France. Zenit accounts and our own sites are hosted there, and sites built with Arko, along with its management space, will be too. All of it falls under European law.
Why France
Most of our future customers work in France. Keeping their data close to them, with a French provider and under the law they know, makes things simpler to explain and to check. It is also a choice we can stand by over time: we know where the machines are, who runs them and which rules apply.
What leaves our servers
A few services run elsewhere, and we would rather say so:
- backup copies, encrypted before they leave, are kept by Backblaze in its European region (the Netherlands);
- traffic to our sites goes through Cloudflare, which routes it and protects it against attacks;
- account emails (codes, links, security notices) are sent from Switzerland by our email provider.
The full list of providers, and of what they handle, is in the privacy policy.
Getting your data back
Hosting in France is not enough if you cannot leave. Your content and your data will remain retrievable in documented formats, during your subscription and after it ends.
